Kim Gentry - Dressage
A native of Sydney, Australia, Kim is a successful rider and trainer through FEI. She is a USDF Certified Instructor through Fourth Level and earned both her Second level and Fourth level certification in the same testing. Kim is also a graduate of the USDF “L” program for judge training.
Kim learned to ride as a student of Australian FEI “I” judge Irene Bakels-Noreen and as a teenager was an active BHS Pony Clubber in Singapore. She evented, show jumped and rode dressage during her teenage years and earned her amatuer jockey license at 16 shortly followed by her steeplechase license.
Kim has focused on dressage since moving to the US over 25 years ago and has won numerous regional and national awards with horses that she has trained. In 2007, she was awarded the Major Andres Lindgren Scholarship from The Dressage Foundation which enabled her to travel to Germany with her horse and train for several months in 2008 and 2009 with Stephan Kiesewetter.
Kim is based out of Memphis, Tennessee and runs a successful teaching and training business there. She recently purchased her new partner ,C-Golden Eye, in Germany and is looking forward to bringing him out at Grand Prix in 2010.
